Proactive Lead Replacement: Bad Numbers Returned Before You Dial
Some leads show up marked Lead Replacement Approved before you've had time to call them. That isn't a lead someone else already returned. It's our system catching a dead number and replacing it for you, usually within seconds.
The Short Version
- It runs on every new paid lead. The moment a lead is delivered, we text it to introduce you.
- The phone carrier tells us if the number is dead. Can't be reached, doesn't exist, isn't valid, or isn't a US number.
- We return the lead for you, right away. No form to fill in, no review to wait for.
- Your replacement lead is sent automatically, on the same order.
- You're told three ways: the lead's status, a note on the lead, and an email.
Why We Built It
A lead you can't reach is money you can't earn. Before Proactive Lead Replacement, finding a bad number meant dialing it, hearing the disconnect message, filling in a replacement request and waiting for it to be approved. That's time you could spend talking to someone who wants to hear from you.
We already text every new lead to introduce you. That text tells us something useful: when it can't be delivered, the phone carrier tells us why. If the reason is that the number is dead, there's nothing left to check. So we act on it right away, on your behalf.
How It Works
- A new lead is delivered to you. At that moment we send the lead a text introducing you.
- The phone carrier answers. If the number can't be reached, doesn't exist, isn't a valid number or isn't a US number, the lead can't be contacted.
- We return the lead for you. The replacement is approved immediately, in your name, for your order.
- Your replacement lead is delivered through the same order, the same way as any other approved replacement.
How You'll Know
- The lead's status changes to Lead Replacement Approved.
- The lead's notes say Proactive Lead Replacement and explain what happened.
- You get an email titled Proactive Lead Replacement Approved.
When you see that status on a lead you just received, you don't need to call it or request anything. The replacement is already on its way.
What It Covers
| Lead | Proactive Lead Replacement? |
|---|---|
| Paid leads on a Realtime order | Yes |
| Free or courtesy leads | No. Free leads are never replaced. |
| Aged leads | No. Use the normal replacement request. |
| Your own leads (website, digital business card, Add Lead, Import Leads) | No. These belong to you and are never replaced. |
Good to Know
- It works even when your order is at its return limit. The carrier's answer is proof, so we never hold it back.
- It counts in your order's return rate, like any other approved return.
- It's never taken back. Once approved, it stays approved.
- If we don't catch a bad number, you can still request a replacement yourself from the lead, the normal way.

FAQ
Why did my lead arrive already marked "Lead Replacement Approved"?
Because we caught a dead number seconds after delivery and returned the lead for you. It was new to you, not a lead another agent had returned. Your replacement lead is on its way.
Do I need to do anything?
No. There's no form to fill in and nothing to approve. Just watch for your replacement lead.
Does it cost me anything?
No. You get a replacement lead for the one we returned, exactly as with any approved replacement.
Can I return a replacement lead if it's bad too?
Yes. Replacement leads follow the same rules as any other paid lead. If one turns out to be bad, request a replacement on it from the lead.
What if a number is bad but you didn't catch it?
Request a replacement from the lead, the normal way. Proactive Lead Replacement only acts when the phone carrier tells us for certain that the number is dead.
